Angel Lost in Time

[a beautiful poem about grief]

The velvet white wings

that wrapped around the stone heart

found in a secret place

torn apart…

Apart from self-destruction

she would protect me

but laying still

silent breaths, she died.

A soft touch

that could have comforted

broken shards of tears

scar me in grief…

In grief, I screamed

an angel lost in time

carried on the back

of charcoal clouds.

A feather writes her name

Black ink fades

in our perception of time…

Heads bow

when coffins glide

Purple rose in snow

cold sets in

on souls that dream.

A spiritual quest

nightly allure

angels touch…not so pure.
